Barge Suddav/Garden Rue (बर्ज सुद्दाव) : Barge Suddav is a odoriferous herb belonging to the family Rutaceae. It is the source of Rue or Rue oil, called as Sadab or Satab in Hindi. It is distributed throughout the world and cultivated as a medicinal and ornamental herb. The ancient Greeks and Romans, held the plant in high esteem.

Barge Suddav is an herbal remedy made from the herb rue. It has historically been used in homeopathy and has anti-inflammatory properties. This herb was tested in patients with cancer for its effects on anxiety and depression.

Barge Suddav is also a long-established herbal remedy. Note that herbal medicine, also called herbalism, is different from homeopathy. The homeopathic remedy Barge Suddav is sometimes used in cases of problems concerning joints, tendons, cartilages and periosteum.

Barge Suddav is a hardy, shrub-like evergreen plant, which is native to Southern Europe. This can grow in almost any conditions, but prefers a semi-sheltered dry environment. The lower part of the stem is woody, and the leaves are alternate, bluish-green and either bi- or tripinnate. They have a strong unpleasant odor and a very bitter disagreeable flavor. The plant blossoms from June–September, with greenish yellow flowers. Propagation can be carried out by direct seed planting, stem cuttings or root cuttings.

If an overdose is taken, the Garden Rue herb acts as an acro-narcotic poison. It also tends to induce vomiting; any treatment should therefore not be taken directly after eating. Externally, it can be used as an ointment, while the leaves help to relieve pain caused by sciatica. Fresh leaves place on the forehead are said to cure headaches, and a compressed and saturate decoction prepare from rue leaves applies to the chest helps in treating persistent bronchitis.
